Watching

Watching the world go by,

Waiting for the world to change,

We see so much pain.

Horrific abuse,

Things so wrong,

How do we let this go on?

But here’s city life,

With the sun in the sky,

And I know we can make things right,

All these beautiful people,

We’re going to be the change.

Swing

Trapped by society's expectations, 

Let's not be.

Instead embrace life.

Wear whatever,

Do whatever,

Dance whenever,

Be, always,

Find liberation,

Swing,

It has a child-like freedom.

Exhaustion

Deep mind exhaustion,

The strain for thought,

Thoughts you could do without,

But this is reality and,

Ignorance is not bliss,

For starving children,

For abused animals,

The elderly, the poor,

Every day a struggle,

They're more exhausted than you,

Keep thinking.

Myself Without Me

I alude me,

Myself escapes my mind,

So on a journey I encroach,

I set out myself with me to find.

Along the way I see existence,

I know I must be somewhere near,

Eventually I reach the present,

And I realise I was always here.

I'd be scared if I lost me,

I've never been without me before,

But as I think things are changing,

So am I me anymore?

Twenty years don’t seem enough,

But for you it was all too much,

For what this life turned out to be,

Was not right for you, now we see.

You were loved as a friend,

Cherished brother, son, to the end,

Now we must let you go,

Not understanding why it’s so.

Tearfully we say goodbye,

And lay you down to rest,

You made your choice,

Found your wings, your voice,

And now you’re free to fly.
