This poem is clearly about romance. The lines come in pairs -- 1 goes with 5, 2 goes with 6, 3 with 7 and 4 with 8.
To narrate, the poem says, "If you could read my mind, you would know the truth: that I love you, and that you represent perfection to me; if only you agreed..."
At least, that's how I read it.
It's not my favorite topic of writing to read, but I think it's an excellent piece of writing compared to alternatives on the topic.

Yes it is about romance. The lines are not meant to be in pairs.
ReplyDeleteYour narration there is so close to what my own would be. Just the end would be "you would be perfect, if only you loved me."
